We are looking for a motivated and talented FHIR Engineer to join our dynamic team. 

Employment Type: Full-Time (Contract) 

The Onyx FHIR Engineer will design, develop, and maintain FHIR-based software systems that support secure and scalable healthcare data exchange. This role requires collaboration across engineering and product teams to deliver high-quality interoperability solutions spanning frontend and backend domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, test, and maintain FHIR-enabled APIs, services, and integrations.
  • Translate technical requirements into scalable solutions and contribute to architecture and design discussions.
  • Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, and operations.
  • Contribute to CI/CD workflows, deployments, and system integrations.

Technical Skills & Tools:

  • Experience with FHIR standards and API-based healthcare interoperability.
  • Strong backend and frontend development skills (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript).
  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React) and backend frameworks (e.g., Django or similar).
  • Comfortable working with cloud platforms and services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Basic scripting ability for automation and validation (e.g., Python, SQL).
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with issue and test tracking tools (e.g., Jira, test management systems).

Key Activities:

FHIR API Development: Design, build, and maintain FHIR-based APIs and services to enable standardized healthcare data exchange across Onyx products.

Standards & Compliance: Implement FHIR standards (resources, profiles, RESTful APIs) to ensure interoperability and compatibility with partner systems.

Quality & Delivery: Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to CI/CD workflows to deliver reliable, high-quality FHIR solutions.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with product, QA, UX, and operations teams to refine requirements and align FHIR features (on roadmap) with product goals.

Product Feedback & Improvement: Collect technical feedback from users/partners and help prioritize enhancements for Onyx FHIR capabilities.
