  • Deep understanding of architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven, service-oriented, domain-driven design).
  • Strong experience in API design, lifecycle management, and interoperability standards.
  • Proficient in creating system design artifacts (UML, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, ERDs, etc.).
  • Ability to define non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability, availability, and maintainability).

Software Engineering Practices

  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies — Agile, Scrum, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficient in designing version-controlled, testable, and modular code structures (even if not coding day-to-day).
  • Experience with architectural governance and code quality standards.
  • Familiarity with unit, integration, and performance testing strategies.

Cloud & Infrastructure (Conceptual)

  • Strong architectural knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., designing for elasticity, cost optimization, fault tolerance).
  • Understanding of containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure as code principles.
  • Experience architecting solutions with considerations for multi-tenancy, service mesh, and deployment automation.

Integration & Interoperability

  • Strong understanding of system integration concepts (message queues, APIs, webhooks, ETL pipelines).
  • Experience designing for cross-system data exchange, synchronization, and orchestration.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), federated authentication, and role-based access control (RBAC).

Data Architecture

  • Strong grasp of data modeling (relational, document-based, graph-based).
  • Understanding of master data management (MDM), data governance, and data lifecycle.
  • Experience designing for structured and semi-structured data workflows.

Security & Compliance (General)

  • Familiarity with designing systems for secure data access, encryption in transit and at rest, and role isolation.
